Recently I had the chance to go to R&B Live to celebrate a friends birthday. It was a celebration like no other!!! Although it was a mere coincidence we were at this concert, it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. With me being a big fan of 90’s R&B, I knew Chico Debarge was gonna do a great job. His album, The Game, is one my favorites in my collection and this was my first time seeing him sing live. To put icing on the cake, Chico called up his legendary family to take the stage. Being that I was born in the late 80’s I wasn’t aware of all their hits, but I was familiar with a few tunes that my mom played when I was younger. I can even remember her talking about the Debarge family in detail and telling me how great they were. Even in their 50’s and 40’s they still had it. Their vocals still intact and still soaring was the highlight of the evening and I will never forget it. For a family that has gone through so much, they still come together on stage and blow people away. Once a legend, always a legend! Cheers to them!
